Disney on Ice does it again, bringing a cacophony of color, imagination and creativity that children and adults have come to expect from this ice skating extravaganza. Heroines and heroes from the “Toy Story” movies are bundled into one evening without going into overdrive, and are presented with spectacular special effects and the usual Disney sparkle.
Fall garden markets
Many cool season vegetables can be planted in our South County gardens in the fall. During our winters, nature helps with the watering, and there are fewer weeds and pests. Cool season vegetables include broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, chard, kale and beets. The UCCE Master Gardeners have Fall Garden Markets scheduled in Gilroy and Morgan Hill, with varieties especially well-suited to the southern end of the county.
On the rise?
Prior to the election on Nov. 8, we had seen a slow but steady rise in mortgage interest rates. Many attributed this to the fact that the markets were being conservative prior to the election, and that the Federal Reserve had indicated a rise in short term rates in December was a given.
