For terrific summer fun, it’s hard to beat a concert at Fortino Winery in Gilroy. On a very warm evening, a group of us arrived just as the sun was setting and in time to snag the last table. We came stocked with picnic baskets full of submarine sandwiches, heirloom cherry tomatoes and summer salads.

What's with all the new graffiti in Gilroy? Last week someone tagged the walls on the new KB Homes property on Luchessa. It got cleaned up and two days later it reappeared—and worse. All the way home toward Gavilan there was graffiti on new round-about rocks, on Thomas Road then on Mesa. Not cool. We moved to Gilroy to avoid stuff like this.

BOXING: Guerrero to return July 28
Five-time world champion boxer across three divisions, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, will move up two weight classes and challenge Selcuk Aydin on July 28 in San Jose, according to a ringtv.craveonline.com report Thursday. The report was confirmed by a source close to Guerrero. More details from Golden Boy Promotions are expected soon, the source said.
