DEAR EDITOR:
So the union is set to picket Wal-Mart’s grocery store expansion. I hope no one believes for one minute they actually care about workers’ benefits. (Wal-Mart offers benefits.) Remember when the Teamsters illegally picketed Safeway (hurting union workers therein) over the shipping non-issue a couple years ago?
For those who doubt it, have ’em show valid documentation on what they charge for dues. More union jobs means MORE MONEY, and more of the enslavement known as “pension.” (The union controls the retirement benefits, so if you get tired of the union’s excessive dues and dirty politics and de-certify them, you get “fined.”)
When they’re out there picketing March 6, show ’em you’re not fooled by their games.
