Gilroy Police arrested four people, two of them juveniles, early Friday morning after they shot a homeowner who was trying to prevent his car from being burglarized.
The man was shot three times in the leg and will survive. His home is in the area of Victoria Drive, where there have been a lot of auto burglaries, police said.
The first call came in at 2:53 a.m., reporting car burglaries. At 3 a.m. shots were fired. Police said the man confronted the thieves and while he was talking to two of them, a third shot him.
One of them was arrested at the scene and from information, police found the others at a home on Irvin Court, where police surrounded the house of either a friend or one of the suspects. A fourth was arrested while he was walking away.
More details, including mug shots, should be available later today.
