Dear Editor,
I was saddened to hear about Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jeramy Ailes. I just happened to check the casualty list on CNN.com and saw someone from my hometown, Gilroy. I immediately logged onto The Dispatch’s Web site and saw the article about Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jeramy Ailes. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I am forever grateful to him for his courage and his sacrifice for our country. Just reading about him on CNN made me cry. I read the casualty list on a monthly basis and it is sad, but when it hits home, it hits home. I have one younger cousin currently in Afghanistan, two older cousins being deployed next month, and my little brother is presently stationed at Kanohoe Bay.
I am very proud of all of them and yet, all the time scared for them. I just wanted to have the chance to tell his family that I am very sorry for their loss, and that thousands, millions of people are grateful and proud of Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jeramy Ailes, from Gilroy, California.
