GILROY – Victory Outreach powered past No Soup 4 You 21-14 Sunday in a battle of Men’s DDD League unbeaten teams at Las Animas Park.
Matt Cauflin collected five hits as the eight-player Victory Outreach line-up produced a 4-0 mark for the second half. No Soup slipped to 3-1 with two games to play in the season.
No Soup took a 6-2 lead after one inning, but Victory Outreach responded with an eight-run fourth frame. Ralph Ortiz hit two doubles in the decisive Victory rally. John Osaki added two singles in a nine-run fifth for the winners.
Fausto Padilla drilled two doubles and a single, Jay Jones a triple and two singles for No Soup 4 You.
Serafin Mancera bashed a home run and two doubles to pace Bay Sheets past the Plunderers 26-14. Pete Silva went 4-for-5 and scored five Bay Sheets runs. Ruben Galvan added three hits and scored five runs. Jeff Stuck, Shawn Hernandez, Shawn Albertson, Oscar Cano and Rod Melching each managed two hits for the Plunderers.
Nick Magee and Eddie Cordia roped home runs to lead the Chippendales to a 21-11 victory over the Covenant Builders. Kevin Giordanengo went 3-for-4 and Ricky Krogen scored four runs for the Chippendales. Phil Tercero went 3-for-4 and Erik Adams scored three runs for Covenant.
Jessica Loza went 4-for-4 and scored four runs to highlight a 16-8 Gaeta’s Taqueria Co-Rec B league decision over Just For Fun Sunday at Las Animas.
Joel Gaeta turned two home runs and a double into eight RBI for the Taqueria. Chris Adame homered and Sara Alanis finished with a triple, two singles and four RBI for the winners. Eddie Cordia went 3-for-3 for Just For Fun.
Josh Padron singled home Grace Gonzalez with the deciding run in the top of the final inning as Dee’s Nuts and Cherries outlasted Feather Haven Mill 16-15. Gonzalez and Jess Lopez Jr. each collected four Dee’s hits. Brett Scott and Charlie Roe produced home runs, Dave DeCarlo a 3-for-3 effort for Feather Haven Mill.
