Vincent Ambrose Fischer died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at V.A. Palo Alto Health Care System, Menlo Park. He was 87.

Mr. Fischer was a Gilroy resident for 30 years. He retired in 1982 after 22 years as a Distribution Clerk and System Coordinator for the U.S. Post Office. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Ordinance Instructor. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Fischer was a devout Catholic, and in his younger years, sang in the Church Choir of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera.

He is survived by sons, Eric Fischer of Orangeville and Peter Fischer of Fremont; sisters, Ann Mackey of Fresno and Amanda Woodward of Madera; grandsons, Jason and Ryan Fischer; as well as five nieces and three nephews.

Services have been held under the direction of Jay Chapel, 1121 Roberts Ave., Madera.
