WATSONVILLE — The Christopher High boys’ volleyball team dropped a three-set match (15-25, 13-25, 17-25) to Pajaro Valley on Tuesday night in Tri-County Athletic League action.

The Cougars are now 0-6 in the TCAL Valley Division, 0-6 overall.

“We are still trying to refine our rotation. Our loss was more because we got caught up in the fast pace of the game. We forgot our position coverage,” Christopher head coach Karie Gonzales said. “We have to take a step backwards to basic court coverage.

“Now that our middles are getting stronger with their swing, we now need to focus on court coverage.”

CJ Thompson led the Cougars with five kills, while Justin Laveroni had three kills, one block and one assist. Ryan Tabilas contributed 30 assists, one dig and one ace, and Emmanuel Salcedo added nine assists, one kill, one dig and one ace.

Pajaro Valley, meanwhile, improves to 3-3 in the TCAL Coastal Division standings.

Christopher will look to rebound on Thursday when it will host Gonzales at 6:30 p.m.
