Dear Editor,

Adding to the mountain of damning evidence of VTA and AMBAG incompetence, this week’s edition of Traffic World highlights the national trend to intermodal transport, while our local leaders are like road kill on the 21st century route to transport solutions.

Instead of condemning us to socialist transit boondoggles like lite rail, Caltrain, BART and county transit, diverting highway dollars to unsustainable wastefulness, our leaders ought to join the national intermodal network. VTA and AMBAG have left us as the largest urban area on the North American continent without intermodal facilities. But their senior transportation planners don’t even know what one is.

Consequently, our commerce and industry suffer, or depart for greener pastures. Thanks to their myopia, we get more congestion, more delay, more air pollution and more highway maintenance. More than ever before VTA and AMBAG should be indicted, dissolved as your editorial board recommended, and as many industry commentators have concluded for similar wasteful MPOs across the nation, thrown off the backs of taxpayers. Left in charge, VTA and AMBAG have us on the road to ruin. Caveat Viator!
