Walter Bakowsky died peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at the Zen Hospice Project Guest House in San Francisco, CA.

He married Aspasia “Essie” Perdicalis in 1946 and they remained together until her death in 1990. They had two sons: Stephen and Ted. Among Walt’s interests were hiking, photography, stamp collecting and listening to classical music.
In addition to Essie, Walter was predeceased by his grandson, Nicholas.
He is survived by Stephen and Ted and Ted’s wife Lorine. He is also survived by his brother James T. Fousekis and sister Penny Rosso, by grandchildren Jennifer, Monica, Morgan, Diana and Holland,
and great-grandchildren Tallulah and Gracyn.
