Jim Virgin was born in San Jose, CA and grew up in Los Altos. He lived most of his life in Santa Clara County, attending local schools. Most recently he was employed by Electric Power & Research Co. (EPRI) in Palo Alto.
Jim was known for his kindness and generosity. He had a penchant for fast moving cars and loved driving his Porsche around the backroads of the valley. Jim was a computer wizard and fond of acquiring the latest technology.
After a long illness, he passed away quietly with his family by his side on June 19 in Stanford Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father W.J. Virgin. Jim is survived by his son Jon, mother Lillian Virgin, sister Kris Thompson, brother-in-law Bob Thompson, nephew Eric Lopez, niece Maren St. Ours.
He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. The family will be holding a private memorial service.
