Gilroy – Walton & Sons Masonry clinched at least a tie for the first-half Men’s E League title Thursday with a 21-7 decision over Heinzen Manufacturing at Christmas Hill Park.

Chris Lamp hit a three-run home run and RBI-single in a 12-run third inning as Walton & Sons took a 16-2 lead.

Willie Maquinalez went 4-for-5 and Jason Mesa offered three hits and scored three runs for Masonry. The win left Walton & Sons at 5-1, while the Titans hold second at 4-1 with next week’s game against Heinzen to complete the half.

Luke Corona went 3-for-4 and Vince Ferrante poked a three-run triple for Heinzen Manufacturing.

The Titans stopped Claddagh Brew Crew 20-11 to remain in pennant contention.

Vance Lee extended his consecutive hits streak to nine with three singles and a two-run home run for the Titans. Dave Rose netted three RBI off two singles and Johnny Ramirez went 3-for-4. Joey Hoiberg and Dave Slater slapped two-run singles for Claddagh.

The South Valley Community Church Sons of Thunder improved to 3-2 with an 18-3 victory over the Assassins.

Bill Nicholson and Mario Flores each roped two singles in the third inning as the Sons posted 11 runs. Adolfo Tellez collected two doubles and Rick Chavez, Ron Reinartz and Gil Miranda each bagged a two-run single for the Thunder. Michael Garza went 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Assassins.

2NQ moved into a tie for first place in the Men’s EE League at 4-1 Thursday by defeating Team Beefy 33-6 at Las Animas Park.

Nick Magee hit two home runs, Ryan Kearns one as 2NQ joined idle VFW Bingo atop the seven-team league. Ricky Kroger went 7-for-7 for the winners. Nate Mah hit two doubles for Team Beefy.

The Good Ole Boys powered past the SVCC Men of Thunder 27-7 as Brian Stelling cracked a home run, two triples and two singles. Davis Tripathi went 6-for-6 and scored five Good Ole Boys runs. Jordan Montarbo drilled a grand slam and a two-run shot for the Men of Thunder.

Tony’s Embroidery finished the half at 4-2 by topping Victory Outreach 26-9.

John Ceballos and David Medina each stroked two singles as Tony’s Embroidery scored 13 runs in the seventh inning. Ceballos went 5-for-5 and Tracy Sustaita hit a three-run homer for the winners. Josh Diaz went 2-for-2 and scored two Victory Outreach runs.
