Anchorpoint Christian’s 8-man football team took home many of
the the Coastal Athletic League’s postseason awards after finishing
in first place for the second time in as many years.
GILROY – Anchorpoint Christian’s 8-man football team took home many of the the Coastal Athletic League’s postseason awards after finishing in first place for the second time in as many years.
The Warriors had a 7-2 record in just their second season of play and went undefeated (4-0) in the CAL.
Senior Christian McCrimon was selected league MVP after scoring 30 touchdowns and gaining over 1,500 total yards. He was one of the leading scorers in the Central Coast Section, averaging 23.1 points per game.
Junior Josh Ignagni was named the league’s top defensive player, and coach K.C. Adams was selected Coach of the Year.
Other Anchorpoint players to be selected First Team All-League for offense included: senior running back Brian Orr, senior wide receiver Colton Minyard and junior lineman Kenneth Urbanski.
First-team defenders for the Warriors included: senior lineman Justin Ringer, junior lineman Josh Mastroieni and senior linebacker Joseph Apolinar.
Honorable mention awards went to senior lineman Mano Ahumada and freshman receiver Marcus Harrell.
