Dear Editor,
We come to the community with our hands, claws, wings, and paws extended.
Since 1984, W.E.R.C. has rehabilitated thousands of animals. We patch them up, set broken bones, and give physical therapy, and hand-feed babies every 20 minutes. We clean, house and provide them with special diets, for our goal is to release them back to their natural habitats, healthy and wild.
The need for services is more crucial than ever. As our community grows, wild animals are forced into closer contact with humans, often with tragic results. Without help, we may be forced to turn away these patients, or even more sadly, to end our life-saving work. W.E.R.C receives no federal, state or county funding, and is not allowed to charge a fee to care for wildlife. Our center is supported solely by contributions from people and businesses in our community who value and respect wildlife, are concerned about their health and well being, and want the best possible care and chance for their safe return to the wild.
Any donation will have a real impact. Every dollar contributed helps save lives and make a significant difference in the quality of life around us. Please attend and support the upcoming barbecue and auction Saturday, June 10 from noon to 3pm at San Martin Country Park. Donations may be sent to W.E.R.C., PO Box 1105, Morgan Hill, CA 95038-1105, or call 779-WERC (9372).
Thank you for your continuing support.
Susan Capello, President, WERC Board of Directors
