Women’s Basketball League Monday with a 32-28 squeaker over
Williams Dental Lab at Solorsano Gymnasium.
Katie Harold, Marisa Taylan and Amanda Bakker each scored four
points in the second half as Western Tree snapped a 20-20
intermission deadlock.
GILROY – Western Tree Nursery remained in title contention for the Women’s Basketball League Monday with a 32-28 squeaker over Williams Dental Lab at Solorsano Gymnasium.
Katie Harold, Marisa Taylan and Amanda Bakker each scored four points in the second half as Western Tree snapped a 20-20 intermission deadlock.
Harold worked inside for 12 points to pace Nursery, 3-1 in second-half play. Taylan finished with 10 points.
Shante Mancera carried the Williams Dental Lab offense with 13 points, including the only two three-point field goals of the contest. Emily Szyndrowski provided six points for Williams Dental.
Gaeta’s Ballers are 4-0 in second-half play after a 32-26 decision over the Garlic Girls.
Laura Hennessee paced Gaeta’s by striking for 16 points. Roseanne Peralez popped in 10 points, and Toni Greene and Wendy Filice six apiece for the improving Garlic Girls. Gaeta’s Ballers led 15-14 at halftime.
Team Techron rallied from a 28-20 halftime deficit to defeat the Warriors 51-45 in Men’s Basketball League action.
Frank Tomasetti exploded for 14 of his team-high 18 points in the second half to lift Team Techron to a 3-1 second-half record. Kevin Siha hit two 3-pointers in a 15-point effort for the winners.
Arnold Tellez dropped in 20 points and Mike Vanni had 12 for the 1-3 Warriors.
