Peeking through racks of clothes this week, I was on the lookout for someone looking fabulous and fashionable. The timeless Coco Chanel once said, “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.”

This quote could not be any more true for the chic women I happened upon—ahem, I mean stalked. Both had a simple sense of style that captured their beauty and poise.

I caught the beautiful Carolina Ortega by surprise looking through dresses at Forever 21. Ortega, 53, is a homemaker with sophisticated style. She admires the “classic look” and therefore the elegant, Audrey Hepburn is her top fashion inspiration. She spends $60 per month on clothes and Marshalls is her go-to store for its hip fashion at great prices.

Full-time student Anayeli Frausto has a summer job at Express. She spends $400 per month on clothes at her favorite store, Cotton On. Frausto, 19, doesn’t have a single inspiration for her daily fashion choices. She does, however, admire Selena Gomez’s style.

“Her jeans are really cute, I really like the outfit where she had ripped jeans, this red shirt and heels on,” says Frausto.

Frausto likes to keep her style simple and this is where she and Selena collide. “Sometimes Selena Gomez goes overboard” she says.
