Gilroy Browns Midgets manhandle Bay Side Broncos in 20-0 opening

BAYSIDE – The Gilroy Browns Midget football team opened their season with a decisive 20-0 weekend victory over the Bay Side Broncos.
Play was highlighted by an outstanding defense that shut down the Bronco offense throughfour quarters and a all-around team effort on both sides of the ball. Jeff Garcia led the Browns in tackles and Connor Farotte nabbed an interception, returning it 35 yards to set up another scoring drive by the offense.
The Gilroy offense was anchored by strong running from backs Lorenzo Joso, Richard Charles, Robert Arriola and Joel Corbitt. The passing game clicked as well with Farotte completing a 30-yard touchdown pass to Charles.
Joso received the game-ball for his strong play on offense and defense.
