The Orchard Valley 11-and-under Class 3 Gilroy Xtreme boys soccer team ended its season with a spotless 10-0 record after a 3-2 win over the North Valley Chivas on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Right wing Danny Tovar poured in the Xtreme’s first goal of the game to close a 2-0 first-half deficit.

The second half of play belonged to the Xtreme as they proceeded to take control on both ends of the pitch.

Forward Luis Castillo came through for the Xtreme, netting both goals to put Gilroy ahead for good. The Xtreme defense stayed strong shutting out Chivas in the second half to secure the victory. Castillo earned the game ball for his clutch second-half performance.

Stopper Andrew Diaz was awarded the team MVP. Forward Christian Gonzalez earned the Team Striker award for scoring 19 goals during the season. Left wing Mark Rivera was recognized as the most improved player on the team.
