A week removed from a tournament title, the Garlic City Ghosts 11-under travel baseball team made it two straight after winning the Harvest Classic over the weekend at Twin Creeks.

The Ghosts picked up a pair of wins Saturday -14-3 against the Bulldogs and 13-4 against the Generals – in mercy-rule-shortened games.

JC Castaneda pitched five innings and allowed one run as the Ghosts topped the Swagger Athletics 7-1 in the first game Sunday. Diego Hsu closed the game in the sixth to preserve the win and send the Ghosts into the title game.

Down 1-0 in the top of the second, Castaneda’s double ignited a six-run inning that included singles from Garret Santos, Hsu and Travis Romero. After a pitching change, Jacob Longworth Andrew Kachel and Brendan LeBlanc all scored as part of the big inning.

Defense carried the Ghosts through the fourth inning with Ben Zanger and Anthony Burns making plays.

Burns and Marshall Silva scored in the fifth to make 8-1 for the Ghosts, which stood as the final score. Kachel and catcher Stevie Lemberger were the battery in the final frame. The Reds went down in order.

The Ghosts next tournament is the Triple Crown Central Coast Fall Championships in Santa Maria on Oct. 6.
