Pedro and Manuela Zavala of Gilroy are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Cynthia Zavala, to John Thomas Hanshaw, son of John and Elizabeth Hanshaw of Clifton Park, N.Y.
The bride-to-be is a 1993 graduate of Gilroy High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from California State University–Sacramento and her master’s degree in integrated marketing communication from Emerson College in Boston, Mass. She currently is the editorial communications manager for Bentley Publishers in Cambridge, Mass.
Her fiancé is a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, the State University of New York at Oswego and earned his MBA from Northeastern University. He is a contract manager for Liberty Mutual Insurance of Boston.
The couple will be married Sept. 6 in Gilroy.
