Driscoll Grant will help children
Watsonville – A grant of $7,500 has been made by the Driscoll Strawberry Foundation to the Central Coast Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, to help support home health care for children in the Monterey and Santa Cruz counties.
The nonprofit VNA recently has extended its pediatric home care program to encompass the Watsonville-Pajaro area, due to the closure of Prime Home Health. VNA staff make more than 3,000 physician-ordered home nursing visits to children each year, including mom-baby visits, neonatal intensive care unit babies, pediatric children, obstetrics care, and life-threatening pediatric patients.
“Driscoll and their growers are an important part of the Monterey and Santa Cruz area infrastructure by providing jobs and support to the region,” said Carol Snow, RN, VNA CEO.
LINE-X earns ranking thanks to Gilroy
Gilroy – The work of franchisee Brooke Bjorn, plus the collective effort of more than 500 dealers worldwide, earned the LINE-X Spray-on Truck Bedliners franchise chain the No. 1 rank for 2006 in the Miscellaneous Auto Products & Services category by Entrepreneur Magazine. South County LINE-X, 8864 Muraoka Drive, was awarded their Certificate of Recognition at the corporation’s North American Dealers Meeting in Dallas, Texas.
