Gilroy – Thumpers #1 of SVCC gained sole possession of first place in the Men’s EE League’s second half Thursday by tripping the Good Ole Boys 13-7 at Christmas Hill Park.

The Good Ole Boys posted four runs in the top of the first inning, paced by consecutive RBI-doubles from Joe Balenesi and Don Haygood. The Thumpers responded with four runs in the first frame, led by a two-run single by Adolfo Tellez.

Mario Flores lined a two-run single in the second for the Thumpers. After the Good Ole Boys pulled even in the third on run-scoring hits by Ro Schoenemann and Trevor Sheedy, Rick Chavez gave the Thumpers an 8-6 edge with a two-run double in the third inning.

Ric Pena went 3-for-3 and Carlos Plaza scored three runs for SVCC Thumpers #1.

Gamers In Control moved to 2-1 by defeating Edward’s Cleaning & Hauling-Joe Zertuche Real Estate 12-8.

Josh Gatto lined a three-run home run as the Gamers took a 4-0 lead. Victor Sanchez drove in three Edward’s-Zertuche runs with a single and double, but Gamers put the game away with an eight-run sixth inning rally. Gatto recorded a two-run homer and Joey Hernandez highlighted the decisive showing with an RBI-double.

Moses Guerrero Jr. went 4-for-4 to help 2NQ past VFW Bingo 18-6.

Nick Magee stroked a two-run single in an 11-run sixth inning for 2NQ (2-1). Ed Cordia went 3-for-4 and scored three times for the winners. Tim Schulz and Gabe Sandoval each singled and doubled for VFW Bingo.

Men’s EE

Dutchman’s Pizza outlasted EvMar 13-10 in a battle of 2-0 teams in the second half of Men’s E League action Thursday at Las Animas Park.

Dutchman’s gained 3-0 by snapping a 9-9 tie in the sixth with a four-run outburst. Taylor Micali lashed a two-out, two-run double.

Jeff Wong went 3-for-3 and Micali scored four runs for the league leaders. Geoff Graves netted three singles and John Serrine doubled and tripled for 2-1 EvMar.

Brandon Straw powered four singles and a sacrifice fly on the way to a 20-13 Campbell’s Towing decision over Claddagh Brew Crew.

Ed Castro added two doubles and two singles to the Campbell’s Towing surge. Jesse Rawlins scored four runs. John Weberg drilled two triples and Danny Russo added a double and two singles to the Claddagh offense.

St. Mary Men’s Club moved to 2-1 with a 21-9 verdict over Heinzen Manufacturing.

Shawn Chizanskas went 5-for-5 and Scott Aldridge 4-for-5 for St. Mary, the first-half Men’s E champion. Manny Freitas and Mark Logan each collected three hits for Heinzen.
