Gilroy – Rosso’s Rebels needed nine innings to edge Dan Keith Septics 9-8 in a key Men’s D League softball game Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Dan Keith Septics (3-3) rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to fashion an 8-8 tie. Rick Trujillo, Eddie Flores, Tito Flores and Mike Contreras contributed consecutive singles to spark the Septics comeback.
Jaime Rosso singled with one out in the Rosso’s ninth, then scored when Miguel Garcia and Andy Pereira stroked two-out singles.
Garcia led the 5-0 Rebels with a 3-for-4 effort. Eddie Flores went 4-for-4 for Dan Keith Septics.
Bomb Squad remained in second place at 4-1 with a 21-6 nod over Dr. Tile.
Dave Espinoza launched a three-run home run and three doubles for the Bombers. George Espinoza went 5-for-6 and scored four Squad runs. Damon Romo went 5-for-5. Dave Keim Jr. homered and Greg Gilliam scored two runs for Dr. Tile.
Team Hair FX moved to 2-3 with a 14-12 decision over Trevino Brothers Construction.
Gilbert Ramirez lined two singles as Team Hair FX scored nine runs in the first inning. Mike Kachel went 5-for-5 and Joel Torres homered and added three singles to the Team Hair FX offense. Rusty Trevino stroked a triple and two singles, Matt Corona a double and two singles for Trevino Brothers Construction, the first-half DD champion.
Men’s BB
Fred McCasland hit two home runs Thursday as Craig Avila Bail Bonds topped Czar Construction 30-19 in Men’s BB play at Las Animas Park.
Ruben Ramirez went 6-for-6 and scored five runs for Craig Avila Bail Bonds. Richard Rodriquez and Steve Pacheco hit consecutive homers in the 12-run first frame for the Bondsmen.
The Bondsmen victory left both teams at 4-1 atop the seven-team circuit with one week left in the regular season.
Benji Dequin drove in six Czar Construction runs with a homer, double, single and sacrifice fly. John Jimenez went 3-for-3.
Sean Subia went 4-for-5 to lift Interstate Fence-Dee’z Nutz past DLM Electric 14-13.
Rob Sanchez belted a three-run home run and Junior Gutierrez scored four runs for the winners. Gil Salgado homered in a 4-for-4 effort for 3-2 DLM Electric.
