I enjoyed reading the article about Danny Perry’s recovery. It was nice to read an objective article that positively portrays the bravery of our soldiers fighting in Iraq.
There is so much negative press about our soldiers fighting in Iraq and I appreciate reading inspiring stories of bravery and recovery. I have watched Danny struggle with his injuries and surgeries since he was injured in February. I cannot believe his bravery and determination. His maturity is beyond his years and he is an inspiration to his entire family.
As his aunt, I have been part of Danny’s life since he was born. I am so proud Danny became a soldier and chose to defend his country. While it has been difficult to watch Danny struggle during recovery, our family is inspired by his courage. I am thankful to the Dispatch for writing positive articles about his recovery and also for the support of so many in Gilroy. My husband and I set up a trust account for Danny in North Carolina. We have received checks from all over the United States, many from people our family does not know and a great deal from the kind people of Gilroy. Thanks to the Dispatch and everyone who has prayed, contributed and supported our family.
