Election volunteers needed
Gilroy – The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers to work at the polls in the June 6th Gubernatorial Primary Election. Volunteers are particularly needed to work in the south part of the county.
Election Officers will earn a stipend of $85 or more for volunteering.
Election Officers are responsible for setting up the polling place, processing voters and providing assistance as requested. In addition to serving a full day at the polls (usually 6am to 9:30pm), they must also attend a three-hour training class.

Easy Street grand prize drawing
Gilroy – The Grand Prize for Downtown Gilroy’s “Road to Easy Street” contest will be awarded today at Happy Dog Pizza Company, 55 Fifth St. at 6pm.
Entry forms can be still be turned in on Friday at Happy Dog Pizza Co. until 10 minutes before the 6pm drawing.

Auction and fundraiser
Gilroy – The Santa Clara Country Mothers of Twins Club is holding an auction and raffle fundraiser today at Eagle Ridge Golf Club. Buffet dinner starts at 7pm. Cost is $20 per person.

Hispanic Chamber Ambassador’s Ball
Gilroy – The Gilroy Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be holding it’s 18th annual Ambassador’s Scholarship Ball today from 6 to 10pm. This year’s ball will be held at Gilroy Elk’s Lodge, 2765 Hecker Pass Road. The cost is $65 per person.

Western concert benefits FFA
San Martin – Lions Club Presents A Western Music Concert to Benefit the Gilroy High School – Future Farmers of America, with Belinda Gail “Americas Western Sweetheart” on Saturday from 6 to 10pm at San Martin Lions Community Hall, 12415 Murphy Ave. Tickets $30.
