GILROY
– Everyone’s favorite Garlic Festival performer, ShaBoom, is now
in its 20th year, and in 1989 the band began organizing and
presenting 50s cruises to various destinations in Mexico and the
Caribbean.
These trips, produced by the band, booked as many as 550 people
as a part of its group on a single cruise and during the nine years
of cruising have taken thousands of fun-loving people with them
aboard ship, many of which have been from Gilroy.
GILROY – Everyone’s favorite Garlic Festival performer, ShaBoom, is now in its 20th year, and in 1989 the band began organizing and presenting 50s cruises to various destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.
These trips, produced by the band, booked as many as 550 people as a part of its group on a single cruise and during the nine years of cruising have taken thousands of fun-loving people with them aboard ship, many of which have been from Gilroy.
Like all good things, the cruises ended and gave way to other activities here and there. Well, out of five years of cruising retirement and with the persuasion and teaming of Central Coast Productions, a Car Show Production Company located in Pismo Beach, ShaBoom has arranged for another cruise in April of 2004.
Just as it all began nearly 15 years ago, the band and it’s friends old and new will set sail in April of 2004 for the Mexican Riviera aboard one of Carnivals newest ships the Pride.
Marian Dotson, wife of band member John Dotson, began her travel agency (CGC Travel) booking ShaBoom cruises and has recently completed a most successful negotiation with Carnival, providing these party cruisers with the best rates on the market.
The special cruise pricing is valid through July 27, so if you’re an old ShaBoom Cruiser or a new one you can contact Marian Dotson at (831) 338-1959 or (831) 588-8483 and get on board!
