GILROY – Handmade Healthcare powered past Aladdin Bail Bonds-Fermin’s Appliance Service 19-4 Wednesday to earn the first-half Men’s D League softball title at Las Animas Park.

Mark Dean capped a three-hit performance with a two-run home run as Handmade Healthcare moved to 5-0 atop the four-team league with a two-game lead and one game to play.

Mike Peternal contributed three singles and scored three runs for the winners. Norm MacVicar sliced a single and double, Daniel Estrada and John Carrillo two singles for Aladdin-Fermin’s.

Los Chilotes moved to 3-2 with a 22-6 nod over the Dirty Dozen in the twinbill nightcap. Rey Dimas went 5-for-5 and scored five runs for Los Chilotes. Joel Gaeta turned two homers, a single and sacrifice fly into four RBI for the winners. Jorge Landeros struck for four singles and Clint Minor homered for Los Chilotes. Pete Quintanar and Ben Naranjo each scored twice for the Dirty Dozen.

Don’s Vending topped Kay’s Kids 10-2 Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park to improve to 4-0 in Women’s League action.

Liz Adams and Laurie Klein each drilled a two-run double and Alma Quistian went 2-for-3 and scored three runs for Don’s Vending. Kathy Zuniga and Kat Corrales drove in the Kay’s Kids runs.

Let’s Do This joined Don’s atop the seven-team circuit by defeating Goldsmith 17-6.

Jessica Gomez stroked a single, double and triple for Let’s Do This. Jodi Mendez collected two doubles and a single, Franny Lopez a double and two singles for the winners. Esmeralda Hernandez tagged a two-run double in the Goldsmith sixth frame.

Marks Tractor Service earned a forfeit victory over Impalas Car Club.

Michael’s Mufflers (4-1) took sole possession of first place in the Women’s D League Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park with a 25-7 decision over the Angels.

Sophia Gause homered and Tracy Nelson went 2-for-2 and scored four runs for Michael’s Mufflers. The Angels countered with a triple-play in the second inning as well as Melissa Palm’s 1-for-3 effort with an RBI.

M&M’s stopped the Energizers 10-3 to leave both clubs at 3-2 trailing the Mufflers moving into next week’s final games of the half.

Missy Hice went 5-for-5, Cindy Barnes went 4-for-5 and Linda Moffet went 3-for-4 for the Morgan Hill Moms. Anissa Velasco went 2-for-3 for the Energizers.
