Paul Victor Rivera passed away at Kaiser Santa Teresa Hospital, San Jose, on April 13.
He was the husband of Adeline Rivera of Gilroy. He is also survived by his daughter and her husband Penny Candy and Rudy Garcia of Gilroy; his son and his wife Paul Jr. and Jennifer Rivera of Tuscon, Ariz.; his son Raymond Rivera of Gilroy; his daughter Shante Guel and her husband Marcelino of Morgan Hill; his daughter Inez Mendez and her husband Edgar of Hollister; and his daughter Vicki Rivera of Gilroy. He is also survived by his brother and his wife Joe and Marie Rivera of San Jose, Elias Rivera of Gustine, Joey Rivera of San Jose. He is the brother-in-law of David Wojcieszak of Morgan Hill, Mario Castillo of Mexico, Marjie Mora of Baldwin Park, Hilda Rivera of San Jose and Mary Mora of Fresno He is the grandfather of Benjamin Torres, Cherice Garcia, Selina Garcia, Elisa Rivera, Nicholas Rivera, Daniel Rivera, Aubriana Rivera, Patrick Rivera, Christopher Rivera, Tommy Rivera, Marcelino Guel, Jr., Adam Martinez, Jake Mendez, Leanne Mendez, and his great granddaughter, Neaveh Jazmin Torres. He was the best friend of Bob Lee of Gilroy and his mijo, Rick Barrientos of Hollister. He was godfather of CiCi Sousa of Salinas and Paul Allen of Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Candelaria Rivera and his brothers and sister, Louie Mora, Frank Mora, Cecelia Castillo, Clara Allen, and Rosalie Wojcieszak. He was born in Montebello on Feb. 16, 1943.
Paul loved to fish, go camping and he loved animals.
