The AnnJam 5K Charity Walk honoring Gilroyan Ann Jaszewski’s 90th birthday took place Saturday morning at Christmas Hill Park and was a huge success, according to Jaszewski’s daughter-in-law Suzanne Jaszewski.
“Mom power-walked the whole time,” said Suzanne. “None of us could keep up. I walked with my granddaughter. That was my excuse.”
Suzanne estimated about 140 people participated in the event. At $30 per entry fee, that’s $4,200 for Hospice of the Valley – the charity of Anne’s choice.
Ann and daughter Suzie Munoz could not be reached for comment for event turnout and contributions.
Dec. 6 being her official birthday, the busy firecracker was off celebrating in Carmel with family.
