Small quakes rattle northeast of Gilroy

An earthquake measuring 3.0 magnitude shook Morgan Hill at 5:07
p.m. this afternoon.
An earthquake measuring 3.0 magnitude shook Gilroy at 5:07 p.m. this afternoon.

The temblor rattled the area about 6 miles northeast of Gilroy and about 11 miles southeast of Morgan Hill, according the U.S. Geological Survey web site.

An employee at the Morgan Hill Police dispatch center said no one called to report local damage or injuries related to the earthquake.
