Gilroy – Pacific Coast Bail Bonds clinched at least a tie for the first-half Women’ D League softball title Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park by trimming Toby’s Girls 6-5.

The Bondswomen took a 6-2 lead after two innings and held on to improve to 4-1 with one game left on the schedule, Wednesday’s 6:30 p.m. test against the Energizers at Las Animas Park. Toby’s Girls and the Energizers each sit at 2-2-1.

Katrina Villa launched a run-producing triple in a three-run first frame for Pacific Coast. Jennifer Olvera, on the way to a 3-for-3 night, posted a two-run single in the second inning.

LeeAnn Blean and Rene Rodgers each belted a triple for Toby’s Girls.

The Energizers snuck past Kay’s Kids 4-3 behind a three-run rally in the fourth inning. Nicole Lara capped the comeback with a two-run single. Lara went 3-for-3 and Denise Chavez added two hits for the Energizers. Kat Corrales hit a two-run double and a single for Kay’s Kids.

Laura Hagiperos went 5-for-5 with six RBI Wednesday as 4-1 M&M’s defeated Image & Design Salon/Guy’s Heating 18-12 at Las Animas Park in Women’s C play.

Becky Ubbema collected four hits and Bridgett Adams scored four runs as M&M’s remained in a tie for first place. Nicole Villarreal went 4-for-6 for the losers.

Goldsmith’s is 4-1 after a 9-5 nod over Farmers Insurance. Yolanda Lomas and Michelle Schafer each went 3-for-4 for the Seeds. Jessica Gomez went 3-for-3 for Farmers Insurance.

Williams Dental Lab moved to 5-0 atop the Women’s B League Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park with an 11-4 decision over Don’s Vending. Gail Corzo went 3-for-5 and scored four runs for the Dental Labbers. Margene Peterson pounded four hits and sister Maureen Hughes turned three singles into four RBI. Liz Talavera stroked a double and two singles for Don’s Vending.

Handmade Healthcare (4-1) topped Dutchman’s Pizza 17-2. Jessica Loza and Mary Ann Valdivia each poked four Handmade hits. Roseann Hernandez and Veronica Rodriguez each scored a Dutchman run.
