Dena Murrine Hoover Wright died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, in Brookings, Ore.
She was born May 30, 1915, to Sam Jones Hoover Jr. and Dochia M. Conatser in Murfreesboro, Ark., county of Pike.
When she was a young lady she moved to Hollister to live with her brother Aulton Hoover who worked on the Hawkins Ranch, now known as Bolado Park. She met and married Charles Monroe Wright in 1938 and had two children.
She enjoyed being a mother and a housewife and liked making quilts, enchiladas and apricot turnovers. She loved to wear shiny hats and glitter shirts and always had a smile on her face.
Her husband Charles died in Gilroy on Feb. 1, 1985. Mrs. Wright moved to Brookings, Ore., in 1992 to be near her son and daughter. In 2002, she moved to the Addie Meedom House in Crescent City.
She is survived by her sister, Marie White of Lonoke, Ark; brother, Delbert Hoover of Murfreesboro, Ark.; son, Charles E. Wright of Brookings, Ore.; daughter, Bobbie C. Porter of Bandon, Ore.; grandchildren, Charles Wright Jr. and Pam Costa of San Jose, Mark Wright of Orange, and Debbie Cordoza and Celeste Lowery of Gilroy; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel.
