DEAR EDITOR:
Ms. Tercero, have you been on vacation? The Dispatch has published two unbiased articles on the puppy mill issue. There was an article printed on April 16 and again on the 28th. On the 22nd of April, the newspaper’s “Our Voice” on the editorial page came out against purchasing puppies from pet stores – and they were very emphatic.
In addition to my letters, there have been at least three letters supporting this cause. On April 28, another one of my letters was printed thanking The Dispatch for their support. I also “spoke” to Mr. Mark Vega re his attack on the Gavilan Kennel Club. I thought his ridiculous remarks about the “local Golden Retriever breeder” were not worth replying to.
The only person I have not answered has been Mr. Tony Weiler. Mr. Weiler, I am happy for you that you received a well puppy from the Pet Stop. Good for you and good for the puppy. However, for every one puppy that is sold well, how many are not accepted because they are not well enough and shipped on with the Hunte truck.
Do you ever wonder what happens to those pups? This is not hype, Mr. Weiler, it is fact. You buy puppies from the pet stores, you support the puppy mills. No more! No less!
