Prep Roundup: Dec. 2

The Gilroy girls basketball team started its season off on the right foot. 
The Mustangs topped Gonzales 54-30 Monday at home in the season opener. 
Nia Pollard led the team with 19 points. Adina Valencia added eight for the Mustangs. 
Gilroy (1-0) will be back in action at 8 p.m. Thursday to face-off with Harbor in the Mustang Classic at Gilroy High. 
BOYS BASKETBALL
CHS drops opener to Santa Cruz
The Christopher boys basketball team dropped their season opener 82-54 to Santa Cruz High Monday at the Santa Cruz Warriors Stadium. 
The contest was a Central Coast Section Sportsmanship game. 
Stats were not yet available. 
The Cougars will be back on the court at 4 p.m. Thursday to play in the Aptos Tournament which runs through Saturday. 
Mustangs fall to Harbor in opener
The Gilroy boys basketball team lost 66-43 to Harbor at home Monday in its season opener. 
The contest was a Central Coast Section Sportsmanship game.

Gilroy will have a rematch with Harbor at 7 p.m. tonight on the road.
