Veterans identification in Santa Clara County will soon have a paperless option.
On June 12, the County of Santa Clara’s new veteran identification cards is set to launch.
For the 85,000 veterans residing in Santa Clara County, instead of carrying DD-214 papers to access veterans benefits, veterans will have the option of accessing the same benefits using the card. According to county officials, the new ID cards give proof of military service to access services, benefits and vets’ business discounts.
Officials are scheduled unveil demonstration of the new cards at the Santa Clara County Office of Veterans Services June 11, preceding the June 12 official launch of the program.
