A double rainbow appears in the sky during the last series of rains just a few weeks ago near Las Animas Avenue and Monterey Highway.

Gilroyans: It might be time again to break out those umbrellas. Rain is forecast to be likely in store for Gilroy this week.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 40 percent chance of rain in Gilroy today with a 20 percent chance this evening.
Showers are likely at 60 percent on Wednesday with south-southwest winds to blow as high as 21 miles per hour. Chances of showers remain at 30 percent into the overnight hours Wednesday under mostly cloudy skies, the NWS says.
Mostly cloudy and partly sunny conditions are forecast on Thursday and Friday before a slight chance or rain returns for the weekend, the NWS reported.
The latest precipitation in Gilroy would come courtesy of a front off the west coast expected to produce light rain along the Pacific northwest coast and coastal northern California, according to the NWS.
The latest rains come following record-low rainfall amounts across the state. Gilroy last experienced a short streak of rainfall earlier in March when approximately 0.34 inches of rain fell total, the U.C. Cooperative Extension reported.
