It’s that time of year when the sun is shining and downtowns are filled with fresh produce, colorful flowers and locally made merchandise. Area farmers markets are up and running, ready to provide communities with an abundance of goodness.
The Downtown Hollister Farmers Market runs from 3 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday through Sept. 24. Here you can enjoy fresh produce and flowers, organic meat and poultry, baked goods, local olive oils and honey, sausages and more. Free parking in the downtown parking garage. The West Coast Farmers Market in Morgan Hill is held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at Third Avenue and Monterey Road. For more information, visit westcoastfarmersmarkets.org.
The Gilroy Downtown Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays in the Gilroy City Hall parking lot, 7351 Rosanna St. Here you can taste the harvest from more than 30 local farmers, and find fresh heirloom crops and organic fruits and vegetables.
