– The Gilroy City Council will consider the following items of
interest at its Dec. 2 meeting:
• A study session to review preliminary site and design options
for the city’s planned cultural arts center. A motion to approve
the site and design could follow in the regular meeting.
GILROY – The Gilroy City Council will consider the following items of interest at its Dec. 2 meeting:

• A study session to review preliminary site and design options for the city’s planned cultural arts center. A motion to approve the site and design could follow in the regular meeting.

• A closed session for an annual performance evaluation of City Administrator Jay Baksa. Under open meeting laws, this part of the meeting is closed to the public, although Council must report any action.

• A public hearing to consider land-use permits for Regency Realty Group’s new Gilroy Crossing regional shopping center at the southeast corner of the U.S. 101 and state Highway 152 junction. Among items up for consideration are a proposed zoning change, subdivision, architectural and site review and certification of an environmental impact report.

• A proposal by Lloyd Martin to subdivide nine acres into nine industrial lots at the southeast corner of Monterey Road and Las Animas Avenue.

• A recommendation to purchase a prisoner transport van from Sirchie Finger Print Laboratories Inc. for $46,929.

• A proposal to exempt 39 cottage units within the Village Green development at Santa Teresa Boulevard and Hecker Pass Highway from the city’s development permit competition.

The study session begins at 6 p.m. with the regular meeting following at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Gilroy City Hall, 7351 Rosanna St.
