Elisa Frago and Richard Iversen were married June 23, 2007 at the Highlands Inn in Carmel.

Elisa is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dale Van Kirk of Gilroy. She is a graduate of Presentation High School in San Jose and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands. She is currently employed by Starbucks where she is assistant manager.

Richard is the son of Dr. William Iversen of Fort Collins, Colo. and the late Linda Iversen. He is a graduate of Ames High School in Ames, Iowa and received his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and his master’s degree from Northern Arizona University. Richard teaches history at Desert Ridge High School and coaches football at Phoenix College.

Elisa and Richard have made their home in Mesa. Ariz.

Lauren Jerene Skow was born at Hazel Hawkins Hospital in Hollister Jan. 30, 2008 to Jarrod and Jillian Skow of Hollister. She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces.

Casey sisters turn 96 and 98

Hilda Casey Lynch and Margaret Casey Chabot celebrated their 96 and 98 birthdays Saturday at a family party at their Gilroy home. Despite failing eyesight, Hilda is an avid bridge player and Margaret enjoys Scrabble, jigsaws and Sudoku. They were delighted to receive many warm birthday wishes from Gilroy friends.

Matthew Swanson

Air Force Airman Matthew M. Swanson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Mark Swanson of Watsonville, and Lynda Green of Gilroy. The airman is a 2005 graduate of Live Oak High School, Morgan Hill.

Chelsea M. Wilson

Chelsea Wilson, of Morgan Hill, was named to the Deans’ List at West Valley-Mission Community College District this semester. She qualified by earning at least a 3.0 GPA for a minimum of 6 units per semester in classes that receive letter grades.

Alexa Duda

Alexa Duda of Gilroy is listed on the 2007 fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Portland. Duda is a senior and majoring in secondary education. Students need at least a 3.5 GPA to make the list.
