Mr. Alfred Whitaker and his beautiful wife Marlene will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married July 20, 1958, in Lovelock, Nev.
They have a daughter, Leslie Whitaker-Cole, son-in-law, Regan Cole, and grandchildren, Ryan and Katharine; and a son, TSgt. Larry Whitaker, daughter-in-law, Erin, and grandchildren Caitlan and Kyle, all living in Arizona.
HONORS
Andrea ‘Andee’ Walton
Andrea “Andee” Walton has graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., where she received a bachelor’s degree in French and minors in business and international studies.
The commencement speaker was Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.
On May 15, Andee was one of the 125 graduates who chose to enter the military, and the only female of the 26 who were commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. She is currently assigned to The Basic School in Quantico, Va.
Andee is a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School where she participated in the first two years of the now-defunct NJROTC Program. She is the daughter of Karol Roy of Hollister and Andy Walton of Morgan Hill.
Jeffrey BeDell
Army Pvt. Jeffrey J. BeDell has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
He is the son of Lisa Duncan of Morgan Hill. BeDell is a 2007 graduate of Live Oak High School.
