Passed away in Hollister at the age of 58. He was born in Hollister and lived here all of his life. He married his wife, Jeanie, in 1976 at Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos, was a member of Hollister Elks Lodge and Bolado Park Golf Course. He was a golf enthusiast with a hole in one on the 5th hole at Bolado Park. He attended Sacred Heart School, Palma High School and graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Matthews of Hollister, his sons, Ryan Matthews and his wife, Rebecca of Hollister and Derek Matthews of Hollister, his brothers and sister, Donald Matthews of Tracy, Jim Matthews of Hollister and Mary Anne Filice and her husband, Peter of Hollister, his grandchildren, Riley and Reagan Matthews of Hollister and his numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother in law, Lillian Corotto of Hollister.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos. Entombment will be private and follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery. A reception will be at the Immaculate Conception Church Parish Hall.
