Would you vote for a parcel tax to support Gilroy school
district’s operating budget?
THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:
Would you vote for a parcel tax to support Gilroy school district’s operating budget?
– No, there must be more efficiencies that can be found.
– Yes. The state budget is a mess and therefore so is our district’s. People need to realize that nothing is free and our responsibility is to step up and pay to keep systems running. There are some “sacred” programs that the board really needs to address. Difficult times call for difficult decisions and the Board needs to listen to their constituents. The body language of some of the members is shocking and dismissive when suggestions are presented that they don’t want to hear. – No, we approve a parcel tax and nothing ever changes it only seems to get worse.
– No. Enough taxes. Period.
– Absolutely! My 2011 motto is no new cuts without new taxes.
– It depends how much. But I would support a reasonable tax to help GUSD and our schools.
– Yes – but only if the parcel tax was temporary and if there was a proportionate reduction in GUSD administrative costs.
– NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! … !!!!!!
– It pains me deeply. I have to say no. I’m already paying school bonds on three houses in Gilroy plus the Gavilan College bond and other special voted on taxes. I no longer have a high paying job, so it’s not as easy to pay them as before. n NO. Enough taxation; will it ever stop?
