Don Murawski passed away suddenly in his home in Gilroy, CA on May 28, 2011, at the age of 69. He was born on November 29, 1941, in Cleveland, OH.
After graduating from St. Joseph High School in Euclid OH, he enlisted in the Armed Services, where he was a helicopter crew chief H-21 for 3 years. Following his honorable discharge, he relocated to California where he was employed by United Airlines, and retired after 38+ years of service. He also spent some time crop-dusting in Bakersfield in the early 70’s. His fascination with airplanes started as a child and continued throughout his life. He also loved to travel and one of his favorite places was South America, especially Brasil.
As a child, listening to his father play the saxophone sparked a lifelong passion for music. His wit, humor, and easy-going nature endeared him to many, and friends and coworkers nicknamed him “Easy Money” and “Mo.”
He always took a genuine interest in people and will be remembered for his generosity, honesty, and passion for his family. The sound of his laughter will be missed by us all.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Murawski of Cleveland, Ohio, his loving daughters, Caroline Nelson of Houston, TX, Jennifer McIrvin and her husband Loren of Livermore, CA, his sisters Judie Wilczenski and her husband Martin, and Mary Jo Howard, of Sullivan, OH. He was blessed with granddaughters Chardonnay and Kelsey and another grandchild is expected this month.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Murawski. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 3, 2011 from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home. Then to Old Mission San Juan Bautista for Mass at 1:00 P.M.
There will also be services held in Cleveland, OH; date and location to be announced.
