Hear classic sounds
Gilroy – The City of Gilroy Community Services Department presents Bisceglie’s “Soul Terrain.”
Come experience the sounds of Motown, disco and soul in this ultimate all-singing, all-dancing wild revue, featuring 75 local kids.
Performances are Jan. 12 through 28, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm; Sundays at 1 and 5pm. Performances will be held at the Gilroy High School Theater. Tickets are $12, reservations are recommended.

Free SAT practice
Gilroy – Princeton Review will provide free practice testing and a strategy session for high school students at the Gilroy Library, 7387 Rosanna St. Students must sign up at the library by Jan. 20. Test is 10am to 2pm Feb. 3 and results and strategy session is 10am to 2pm Feb. 10.

ICF polenta dinner
Gilroy – Italian Catholic Federation Branch #28 presents the seventh annual polenta dinner prepared by Mario Fiorio and crew, Feb. 3, St. Mary Church Cullen Hall 11 First St.
Proceeds benefit ICF charities. Take out dinner available after 5:30pm, bring your own containers. Dinner is served from 6 to 7pm Donation $12, adults and $5 children younger than 10.

Women in Art honored
San Jose – The National League of American Pen Women Santa Clara County Branch will sponsor their annual Celebrity Luncheon honoring women in art, letters and music Feb. 3. This year’s theme is “Everything’s Coming up Roses” and the honorees are Avideh Yaghmai-Samardar, Norlyn Wade, Juliana Richmond, Lynn Bowen Walker, Carmen Rutlen, Ariel Smart, Anita Graves and Mary Linduska.
The event will be held at First Congregational Church, 1980 Hamilton Ave. San Jose. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased by Jan. 29.
