Elmer L. Ramsay died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 after a lengthy
illness. He was 80.

Mr. Ramsay was born and raised in McAlister, Okla. He spent some time in southern California before moving to Gilroy in 1954. He worked as a Shed Foreman for Gilroy Produce, where he ran the field crew and the packing shed for many years. He then went to work for Bill Gould Security where he was promoted to Sergeant. After retiring, he was always around when anybody needed help building, fixing or just being there to visit.

He is the loving husband of Mary M. Ramsay of Gilroy; the step-father of Clifford Marci of Turlock and the late Jerry Marci; the step-father-in-law of Corina Marci and Susan Marci of Turlock; the grandfather of Kathleen Texeira of Livingston, Charlie Marci, Clifford Marci II, and Joe Marci and Susie Marci, all of Turlock; the great-grandfather of Haley Marci of Turlock, Daniel, Ryan and Nicole Texeira of Livingston; the brother of Estelle Maynard of McAlister, Okla., and the late Jessie Rhodes, Nora Maynard, L.J. Ramsay, Eugene Ramsay and Charlie Ramsay. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Eva Ramsay.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.

Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
