Gilroy High wrestler Victor Olmos won the 130-pound title on his way to Most Outstanding Wrestler honors among lowerweights to lead the Mustangs to a second-place team finish in the 49th Overfelt Classic on Saturday in San Jose.
Olmos won the 130-pound final against James Logan’s Felix Bonavente by pin in 1 minute, 14 seconds, helping Gilroy take second with 203.5 points. Logan won the team championship with 243.5 points.
Also for Gilroy, Paul Fox (140), Nikko Villarreal (147) and Matt Penyacsek (162) won titles, including a first-period pin from Villarreal.
Gilroy’s Victor Daza (122) and Lupe Jimenez (154) finished third, Daniel Patterson (197) placed fourth and Mark Penyacsek (172) took fifth.
