Officers from the Gilroy Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team – along with police canines and an armored vehicle – arrested Julian Porcino, 21, for possession of methamphetamine, and Ruby Reyes, 39, for an outstanding felony warrant, at 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at a house on the 100 block of Sixth Street, according to GPD.
The area around Sixth and Church streets was blocked off by patrol cars just prior to the arrests.
Approximately 2:37 p.m., three individuals could be seen sitting on stools on the lawn outside the house with their hands cuffed behind their backs. Another individual was handcuffed and sitting on the curb.
The heavy police presence was due to intelligence GPD received prior to the date indicating there might be more individuals involved at the arrest location, police said. There were seven people in the house, but only Porcino and Reyes were arrested, police said.
GPD confirmed they were serving a narcotics-related warrant.
