Hoey Ranch, what many locals will recognize as the cheerful red barn (visible off Hecker Pass Highway, not far from Syngenta Flowers) is adding seasonal organic produce to its repertoire.
A local named Sarah Griffith will come to the barn from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday for the rest of the year and sell lettuces, herbs, radishes, artichokes and spinach. As the seasons progress she’ll continue to add more inventory, including fresh eggs.
The Hoey Barn belongs to seventh-generation owner Debbie Hoey, a local interior designer who along with her husband sells “antiques, vintage collectibles and good stuff” out of the horse barn-turned-store. The rustic structure has been in the family since 1854.
Hoey invites locals to “take a step back in time and experience springtime at the barn,” located at 2480 Hecker Pass Highway in Gilroy.
Hoey Ranch is open “during winery hours” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays.
