Cache-A Corporation, a supplier of small form factor archive appliances for the digital film, broadcast and professional video industries based in Morgan Hill, announced the signing of distribution agreements that will extend its reach internationally throughout Europe and Asia Pacific.
“These agreements will enable us to offer creative professionals around the world an economical and simple way to archive their video content – both in the studio and in the field,” said Mark Ostlund, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cache-A. “Customer acceptance of our first product, Prime-Cache, has already been strong in the U.S., and our new distribution network promises to accelerate our international sales growth.”
In Europe, Global Distribution Group, in Cambridge, U.K., has been appointed Cache-A’s distributor in every European country except France; AV2P in Paris has been appointed Cache-A’s distributor in France.
“Cache-A’s Prime-Cache and soon to be released Pro-Cache products have hit the nail on the head,” said Keith Warburton, Director and Founder of Global Distribution Group. “Since IBC 2007, we have seen requests for a cost-effective, easily configurable and portable archive solution. Cache-A has built the very tools required for professional video file-based workflows, providing a secure, portable and interchangeable archive at an incredibly low cost of just 0.04 euro per GB on industry-standard LTO tape.”
In the Asia Pacific region, Cache-A has appointed ASK Corporation for Japan, BESCO S.I Corporation for Korea, Caton for China, Intraware Australia for Australia and VSolutions Pte. Ltd. for Singapore.
“Cache-A’s solutions fulfill an urgent need for the end-users and resellers our global distribution channel supports,” said Robert Stacy, CEO of Asia Media Products, Burbank, CA, which advised Cache-A in setting up distribution in the Asia Pacific region. “We believe Cache-A provides a smart and relevant answer to the question of archiving in the file-based world, and that Cache-A empowers our global distribution partners to provide value-added solutions by leading the industry in gains in workflow efficiency and the critical protection of media assets.”
Coalition protests electrical limits
Consumer advocates, small businesses, trade associations, and anti-tax groups launched a new coalition — Californians for Smart Energy – to demonstrate the widespread opposition to the California Energy Commission’s (CEC) unnecessary and job-killing proposal to set arbitrary limits on television electricity usage. The CEC’s regulation would effectively ban the sale of 25 percent of current big screen TV models and 100 percent of plasma TVs larger than 60 inches in California. The Appropriate Connections, Inc. in Gilroy is a member of the coalition. Details:
