place of Gilroy Little League’s Girls Minors division.
GILROY – Don’s Vending Brakettes continued to pound out runs as the regular season came to a close two weeks ago, winning games over Solis Winery Heat and the Westside Grill Bandits to remain in first place of Gilroy Little League’s Girls Minors division.

“Finishing the regular season on a positive note is always good,” Brakettes manager George Sandoval said. “The girls are looking forward to playing hard in the playoffs.”

Maria Sandoval struck out nine batters in four innings to help the Brakettes beat the Bandits 12-5, while Maddie Cox continued her strong hitting with two doubles. Kailey Eddy added two hits and Raegan Silveira scored two runs for the Brakettes.

The Bandits were led by Michaela Decker’s two runs and Emily Boykins’ three walks.

Against the Heat, the Brakettes were led to a 15-11 win through Cynthia DelReal’s home run as well as three hits by Maria Sandoval and two hits apiece by Maddie Cox and Kailey Eddy.

The Heat received two hits from Rachel Vanni and Rebecca Reimal, while Analise Vaden, Rachel Reimal, Rachel Vanni and Pati Soria all scored two runs each.
